A few years ago, my hair started thinning out a lot. I remember twiddling my hair whilst talking to my mum and a huge chunk of my hair came out.
Hair loss and thinning hair can really affect your confidence, but I found a way to grow my hair thicker and longer naturally and I’m going to tell you how I did it within 2 months!
I prefer finding natural solutions to illnesses rather than taking medication, so I did my research on natural products for hair loss. I tried hair tablets such as Viviscal and thickening shampoos but they didn’t work, my hair actually felt straw-like when I used them.
Here are the hair products that I use to make my hair thicker and longer:
- Sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner
- 100% pure coconut oil
- Castor oil
- Egg yolk
- Cold water
- Moroccan Oil
After 1 month I noticed a difference, my hair was shinier and silkier. After 2 months my hair was noticeably thicker and it’s been that way since, despite having very fine hair!
You have to by consistent with this hair routine for 2 months to notice a difference!
How To Make Hair Thicker and Longer Naturally
Sulphate-free Shampoo and Conditioner
Most hair products contain sulphate, the sulphate creates a thick lather when you wash you hair with shampoo. However, sulphate causes frizziness, damages coloured hair, worsens acne and can even cause breakouts on the body.
I switched to a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner and it’s a game changer! Less hair falls out when washing it and it’s even reduced breakouts on my skin.
I use L’Oreal Everstrong Shampoo and Conditioner and I strongly recommend it! The only downfall is that I’ve noticed that my hair gets really tangled when I use it.
2. Coconut Oil
You’ve probably heard this a million times, but coconut oil is AMAZING for shiny and silky hair. It’s important to use a cooling oil like coconut oil rather than something like olive oil. Olive oil doesn’t act as a cooling agent, instead it heats up the hair follicles which causes the hair to fall out.
That’s why your hair falls out when you’re stressed, because your body heats up which heats up the hair follicles, they expand and your hair falls out.
Put this all over your hair overnight.
3. Castor Oil
Castor oil is known for growing new hair, cancer patients sometimes use this after chemotherapy. This oil is amazing, I’ve noticed that my hair is significantly thicker since using it!
I also use it on my eyelashes and eyebrows at night to keep the hairs strong and grow them longer.
Make sure it’s cold-pressed castor oil. Put this on the roots of your hair overnight.
Biotin is an ingredient found in most hair tablets. It’s a vitamin for healthy hair, nails and skin. Not only is it incredible for hair loss and growing thicker hair, but it’s also so much cheaper than buying branded hair tablets like Viviscal.
If I take 300ug, I take 2 tablets a day. If I take 1000ug, I take 1 tablet a day.
5. Egg Yolk
Egg yolks contain protein and the hair needs protein to stay strong. Also, when your hair turns grey, one of the reasons is because it lacks in protein, so get that egg yolk on your hair if you want to prevent grey hairs!
Just make sure that you wash it out thoroughly and try not to go in the sun with it as it’ll warm up in your hair and your hair will smell.
Put the yolk in your hair for 30 mins before washing your hair.
6. Cold Water
We all love a hot shower, but it’s not great for our skin and body. Hot water causes skin inflammation and heats up the hair follicles, causing our hair to fall out and damages the hair.
After your shower, flip your hair upside down and run it under cold water for a few minutes, especially the roots. This also really helps to give your hair a shine.
7. Moroccan Oil
This isn’t essential, but Moroccan Oil is great for taming frizzy hair. I put this in my hair after washing it and it gives lovely tame waves. I also use it after blowdrying my hair and it gives my hair that finished salon look.
It sounds like a lot of effort, but I promise you it’s worth it! I’ve had so many people notice that my hair is thicker since I’ve been following this routine!
Hope this hair routine works for you!
Lots of love,
