Lapasa kindly sent me their gym leggings to try out! I practically spend half of my life in the gym so this is the perfect collaboration.
I’ll be reviewing the fit of the leggings, the fabric, sizing, whether they give common gymwear problems (ahem camel toe…it happens to the best of us!) and as always, the pros and cons as I like to give 100% honest reviews.

First thing’s first…
Who is Lapasa?
Lapasa is an activewear brand for both men and women, based in Canada. They aim to offer good quality and comfortable clothing. I have to say, compared to other gymwear brands, their prices are so affordable!
You can find their gear on Amazon.co.uk.
I like gymwear that feels light, lets me move easily and doesn’t fall down when I’m doing my squats. The Lapasa leggings are made of 88% polyester and 12% spandex, making them light and stretchy without feeling unbearably tight.
I can never find gym leggings that fit my tiny waist, but these Lapasa leggings fit just right! They hug the waist nicely. If you find that you get muffin top when wearing gym leggings, these Lapasa leggings might be perfect for you. They’re high waisted so the hold your tummy in.
Most of all, I love the way these leggings sculpt my muscles!
I originally tried the full length black leggings; however I have very skinny ankles and the leggings were way too big around the ankles. I swapped these for the 3/4 length leggings which were much better.
I’m a UK size 8 for bottoms. I was recommended to order the Small size in these leggings.
The Small size was a little bit too big for me, so I probably would go for the XS size next time.
Common Gym Problems
Okay ladies, you know what I’m talking about. After we’ve finished our squats or before we’re about to stand up from sitting down in our gym leggings we’re fiddling with our leggings and pulling them down to avoid the dreaded ‘camel toe’.
These leggings are slightly baggy around the crotch area (sorry I don’t know what else to call it), but I think that’s just because I don’t fill them out enough (I am crazy skinny!). Even if I did go for a size smaller, I can’t imagine that camel toe would be much of a problem as these leggings don’t tend to ride up.
Another problem I find with gymwear is VPL. These leggings are quite thin so you’ve just make sure that you wear the right pants with them!
Pros and Cons
Here’s a summary of the pros and cons:
- Very reasonably priced
- Thin and light material
- Flattering fit around the waist
- Easy to bend in
- Come in about 12 different colours and patterns
- Slightly baggy around the crotch area
- Definitely a chance of VPL if you don’t wear the right pants
